From heat island to Green Island!

Did you notice that the construction industry is booming in Uganda?
Buildings pop up like mushrooms nowadays. Every new day, we see the concrete mixers on the roads.
High-rise building numbers incrementally increase.
Have you thought about how this rapid growth in construction affects our lives?
Actually, the equation is also simple as follows.
The more concrete will be casted, the more we will have the oppression from the heat in our routine daily life.
When the sunshines come directly to the hard surfaces such as roads, buildings, pavements etc. , it reflects heat through the air.
Thus, we feel hotter than normal temperature.

How can we reduce the heat island effects?
With a simple solution; By reducing the hard surfaces. Our first and very effective recommendation is to work on your compound. Increase the garden, reduce the hard surfaces. Plant more trees, reduce the concrete. It will make you enjoy your life with nature.
This world looks huge but small. We should protect our green areas, compounds, gardens and parks.
Let’s work in Uganda’s construction industry hand in hand in order to keep the country’s natural beauty intact.
